La tour LUIVAR

Located at the end of the "Avenue de la Plage", now, it looks like a medieval tower. Former windmill, it was located on the area of the castle. Built in 1840 by Louis-David Allègre and abandoned after the arrival of the railwail. Built between 1868 and 1878, it includes many curiosities. Composed with hard stone from St Savinien (Charente-Maritime departement), its bell tower is headed east which is the point of sunrise, the 27th September only (day of St Vincent). Pushing the oak doors of this religious monument, you can find organs installed in 1973. The stained glasses were created by the Enameller Master Raymond Mirande (born in 1932 in Bordeaux). He also created the stained glasses of Andernos-les-Bains and St Emilion.Created to accommodate medically fragile and poor children, this building was built in 1913, under the leadership of Mrs Wallerstein. This place, located along the beach, is open on the Bassin d’Arcachon thanks to a sunny chairs gallery. Built by the architects Charles Duval and Emmanuel Gonse. The dining room is decorated with magnificent frescoes painted by Henri Marret. In 1971, the Aérium closed 3000 children hosted.Built on “the belt of Landes” line (from Médoc to Landes), this station enables North Bassin harbors to open themselves to tourism, mainly in the summer, with the trains called “pleasure” made for the poorest people. Bordeaux was now 2 hours from Arès. At this time, “Avenue de la Gare” (Station Avenue) and “Avenue du Port” (Port Avenue) were created.
