This small group first class tour is escorted by an Australian tour director, in addition to an English speaking Japanese tour manager, both with over 20 years of experience in taking guests to see and experience the hidden wonders of Japan. We will introduce you to some of the more unusual aspects of Japan that the independent visitor is not likely to see. This tour is restricted to accepting a maximum of 15 guests. Your rural touring is in a 25 seat private executive coach to help you get beyond the reach of public transport. Yes, we deliberately leave 10 seats vacant in our coach so that you can easily change your seat in the coach whenever you like and have more room to spread out in. Something for everyone Entry fees to listed attractions are all included. In addition to private charter coach travel, we will use the services of Japan Rail to enable us to travel in comfort around a considerable portion of Japan. The famous Shinkansen ' Bullet Train' that reaches speeds up to 250 kph will be included. Explore the historic and photogenic canal area of Kurashiki where old warehouses have been converted to craft galleries and quaint little restaurants. You will also stay at Toba spa resort and visit the Mikimoto Pearl Island where Kokichi Mikimoto first established his pearl culture empire. Visit Kamakura with it's streets lined with cherry blossom, explore the interior of Matsue Castle, and the ancient capital of Nara to see the world's biggest bronze statue of Buddha and 1,000 free roaming deer. Four Art Muse Visits to FOUR of Japan's finest art museums are included in this tour MOA Art Museum, an outstanding architectural wonder overlooking Sagami Bay, and a repository for many Japanese works of art and national cultural treasures. Hakone Open Air Museum with its rambling garden filled with sculptural art by numerous artists including Henry Moore and Auguste Rodin and a gallery of work by Pablo Picasso. Adachi Museum near Matsue on the Sea of Japan coast, has a splendid collection of art works and a lovely example of a traditional landscape garden MIHO Museum , an awe inspiring architectural masterpiece surrounded by forest and landscaped gardens created by I M Pei, holds a fine collection of international work including priceless treasures from Egypt, Persia, China, Japan and Europe. April is Cherry Blossom Time April is Springtime in Japan, creating an artist`s palette of pale pink Cherry Blossoms, colourful gardens, bright green new foliage and crisp clean mountain air. Zen style landscape gardens, stroll gardens and national parks will all offer a variety of springtime flowers and endemic plant species. Gardens you will visit have been chosen because of their reputation as ' best places to view Cherry Blossoms' . These include Sankeien in Yokohama, Imperial Palace East Garden in Tokyo, Ritsurin in Takamatsu on Shikoku Island, Ryoanji ( Stone Garden ), Kinkakuji ( Golden Pavilion ) , Ginkakuji and the Heian Jingu Shrine Gardens in Kyoto. We will cover different climatic areas so that you should be able to see cherry blossom in varying stages from bud to full bloom and carpets of petals that cover the ground creating a truly picturesque sight.
