Our Niteroi City Tour takes you to the other side of Guanabara bay, to Niterói city, a charming middle class town with a great view of Rio. It`s a beautiful city, with awesome beaches and excellent restaurants. Niterói is considered one of the wealthiest cities of Rio de Janeiro state, with a higher income and a better life quality, comparing to most of its cities . With a bit less than 500.000 inhabitants , the city has one of the largest concentration of high schools and colleges in the country. It was also nicknamed “The Smile City” (Cidade Sorriso), and it is just a short ferry boat ride from Rio, across Guanabara Bay. As a matter of fact, in Niterói you will find plenty of reasons to smile about: awesome beaches , historical fortresses and a world-class museum. And besides all that, the city will soon become the place with the second largest number of works from world famous architect Oscar Niemeyer – being Brasilia, the brazilian capital the first one. Our tour will take you to the world famous Museum of Contemporary Arts (MAC), designed by Oscar Niemeyer, one of the most respected architects of our time. Also, we take you to visit one of the largest and oldest fortifications ever built in Brazil, called Fortaleza de Santa Cruz. Along the way, the tour passes by the most famous bay beaches of Niterói.
