Guyana Scuba tour

Guyana lies in northern South America, just east of Venezuela, west of Suriname and north of Brazil. Unlike the countries around it, it is and English-speaking Caribbean country, rather than a Latin American one. It has some stunning natural sights, including the world’s longest single-drop waterfall, and some very lovely beaches. So, what about a Guyana scuba diving trip? Despite those lovely beaches and their tropical waters, Guyana is not a good place for diving. Rivers run into its coast all along its length, making its waters murky. If you are in Guyana and want to dive, you’ll need to head elsewhere. That’s not such a problem, as there is wealth of fantastic Caribbean diving just a short hop away. Venezuela has some really spectacular dive sites along its 2500 km long coast. Head to the Los Roques Marine Park, a collection of islets and coral reefs with a rich variety of life, including turtles and sharks. A short way off Venezuela’s coast is Trinidad and Tobago. There, you’ll find a huge range of dive sites to suit everyone, including one that has the world’s largest brain coral, measuring 4 by 5 metres. You’ll also see turtles, rays and sometimes sharks. There are other options too, including St Lucia and Grenada. Pretty much anywhere you go in the Caribbean has great diving, and most of it is just an hour away from Guyana. Guyana might lack diving, but it more than makes up for it with its attractive towns, friendly local culture and jaw-dropping scenery.
